High Temperature And Mold Release

Apartment Listing

Molds are a type of fungi that grow on moist humid regions of the world. There are several types of mold growth seen the world over. If you detect a foul musty odor emanating from a room or your house, you could be rest assured that your house is infested with molds. These minute organisms are very difficult to detect initially. When they start growing in large numbers, they will spoil the look of your house, will give out foul smell and cause numerous respiratory disorders and allergic reactions.

Molds require moisture for their survival. Apart from that, they also require hydrogen, oxygen and an optimum temperature to grow. They can derive their daily dose of nourishment from paper, paints, adhesives, wood, fabric, etc. A humidity percentage of 70 or more is ideal for growth. A temperature range of 40°F to 100°F is essential for molds to grow and reproduce. These microorganisms will remain dormant and inactive in cooler climatic conditions. If the temperature rises beyond 100°F, molds and their spores will die.

If you find mold growth indoors, it is advisable to remove them as soon as possible. Do not let it stay on for a long time because they will become increasingly stubborn to remove. Cover your eyes, mouth and nose with protective clothing. You can use a dry vapor steam cleaner to kill molds on any surface. Steam the affected area thoroughly. After this, clean the area dry with a towel. Keep the place well ventilated and airy.
