Which Dog Breed Has The Strongest Jaw ?
There are a lot of considerations in identifying a particular breed of dog with the strongest jaws. In many instances, from an overall aspect of view, breeds from the Mastiff family are considered to be the ones with strongest jaws. |
For some, Pit Bulls are the dogs with the strongest jaws ever. The way one considers the factors in determining keeps varying. If some rely on the kind of hardest substances a dog could chew, others check the intensity with which a dog can eat.
However, according to an official survey by National Geographic, APBT, Rottweiler, and German shepherd have shared the honor for having the strongest jaws. The fact that should be considered is that as of now, there are no official means to specify that a particular breed of dog is the strongest one in terms of jaws.
The official and only parameter taken to measure the intensity of strength of jaws is a dog's bite force. This refers to the swiftness and strength with which a dog can bite. During the official survey by National Geographic, Rottweiler had walked away with the honors of being the dog with strongest jaws ever with an intense and stronger bite force at 328. In the second place, the German shepherd displayed its skill with a bite force of 238, and the APBT stood third with a competitive bite force of 235 pounds.
In contrast, the Mastiff breed of dogs has thrown all those records into disarray when it showcased a bite force of a massive 550 pounds, which is almost twice to that of other dogs!
