There are advantages of buying a foreclosed home like prices and everyone will talk about them. However, there are several disadvantages of buying a foreclosed home which no one will discuss. You would not know unless someone tells you about them.
When homes are being foreclosed, the buyers are often left in the dark of the real reason for foreclosure. Also, foreclosure laws differ from State to State. Some states allow foreclosures and also allow the auction to be conducted. However, it also leaves the case open saying that the original owner of the house can come back for the property within a year or six months and claim the property back by clearing all dues or the judgment amount. This is the biggest disadvantage with the foreclosed homes. Very few states like California have a law saying that once a home is foreclosed and auctioned, the entire process is irreversible. Most of the other states actually cut a lot of slack. The original owner can actually claim the property back until the last minute of the auction.
