Sample Eviction Notice To Tenant
A landlord has to serve tenant a notice to vacate the house before he or she approaches the court for a legal eviction notice. The very first step in the process of eviction is to give a notice to the tenant and one that is written by the landlord. |
However, a letter of eviction can only be given by the court as it is a legal notice. But when it comes to writing a letter of eviction, many of them are confused as to what they should mention and what they should not. Here is a sample letter that landlords can look at for writing their own letter.
Dear Tenant,
I would like to inform you that you are being notified about the termination of rental contract dated (state the date of the contract) and I request you to vacate the premises (state the complete address) by the said date. The reason for the breach of rental contract is as listed below.
(List your reasons)
Should you not treat this rental agreement as a breach of contract and fail to vacate the premises by the said date, then I would be forced to take a legal action against you in the form of eviction. Also, you will be held responsible of all the present and future rents pertaining to your stay against the notice on the premises.
Yours sincerely,
Landlord
If the landlord accepts any money from the tenant after the notice period, then it would be considered as a rent and the notice will be cancelled. Also, the tenant can take a receipt from you if you accept the money as rent.
